College of veterinary medicine at the university of Baghdad open horizons of cooperation with the university of Florence, Italy


Assistant professor Dr. Abdul Muttalib Jassim Hammadi, an instructor in the department of diseases and poultry diseases at the college of veterinary medicine, university of Baghdad, and a specialist in fish breeding, delivered a lecture on the scientific results of his visit to the university of Florence in Italy within a program for development of teaching staffs outside Iraq. The lecture included a review of the visit program and many activities related and opening horizons of cooperation with the university of Florence for exchange of scientific expertise and curriculum between the two universities. The visit included also keeping abreast of the classrooms and making use of computers in performing examinations, in addition to giving a visit to the national center for researches, labs for producing marine algae, fish farms that contain automatic feed and the modern methods used in fish farming. At the end of the lecture, the door was opened for dialogue and discussion to enrich the purpose of the visit and its results that will contribute in the development of the college. The lecture was attended by the dean of the college, assistant professor, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul-Hussein Sawyer al-Zubaidi, heads of departments, a number of teaching faculty, professionals and graduate students. The college of veterinary medicine at the university of Baghdad is looking for being one of the prominent and distinguished educational institutions that provide research guidance in the field of education and community service that ensure the development of livestock in the country through providing graduates of high quality who are aware of the importance of this profession towards excellence and creativity in this field. The college is working to keep up with the latest advances in scientific fields of veterinary medicine by updating the curriculum annually, encouraging the teaching staff to follow up the latest developments in their specialization, visiting the corresponding universities and colleges and providing the latest information for students to compete the global universities.
