Innovation of a new world – class electro – hydraulic training system at the university of Baghdad

The student (Ihab Bassam Abdul Qadir) from the department of mechatronics engineering at al-Khwarizmi college of engineering, university of Baghdad, innovated an electro – hydraulic training system for the requirements of bachelor degree under the supervision of Dr. Maher Yahya Maher Salloum, an instructor at the department. This project is based on an electro – hydraulic system which is consisted of integration of electronic control and hydraulic systems by a proportional valve that controls the speed and the direction of movement of the hydraulic triggers at once. The project aims at designing and manufacturing an educational system for graduate students for implementation of laboratory experiments and to reach at scientific results in this field. These innovative projects made by the students at al-Khwarimi college of engineering at the university of Baghdad come to enhance excellence, innovation and the scientific and technological development through the preparation of qualified engineering staffs with distinguished competencies and skills in various specializations to meet the need of the local and regional market in educational, artistic and technical areas. The college is also seeking to strengthen and develop scientific research, both theoretical and applied fields to connect the college with the local community by providing appropriate solutions, treatments and counseling to different problems faced by institutions. Professor, Dr. Maher Yahya Salloum confirmed that “this project is the first of its kind in training of undergraduates and graduate students, being designed on the basis of a theoretical study”. The inventor of this device, Ihab Bassam Abdul Qadir is one of the outstanding students at the department of mechatronics engineering who worked on this project to attain international standards.
