Book series of theater, cinema and fine art issued newly by a number of instructors at the college of fine arts


A series of recent books was issued by a number of the instructors of the college of fine arts at the university of Baghdad about theater, cinema and fine arts so that to enrich the university library with the latest developments taking place in the global arena. The releases include a book entitled “the contemporary directorial vision for the heritage in theatrical presentation” authored by Dr. Saad Abdul-Karim, an instructor in the department of performing arts at the college who teaches theatrical direction at the department. This book discusses how the director deals with the theme of heritage since it is the outcome of the culture that is in line with the conscience of the community and it constitutes a sensitive and a vital issue for all arts and for all people. The book is in five chapters, (262) pages of small and medium sizes. Another book was issued by Dr. Abdul Khaliq Shakir Qasim, a decision – maker at the department of film and television, the faculty of fine arts, entitled “aesthetics of film direction: films of Martin Scorsese as a model”. This book deals with the aesthetics of film making according to this U.S. director who is of Italian origin. The book is of a medium size in three chapters, (244) pages. Within the events of the festival of Baghdad as the capital of Arab culture, a new book was released entitled “feminine directional experiments in Arab cinema” by Dr. Iman Hammadi Abdul Amir, an instructor at the faculty of fine arts. This book deals with the participation of woman in society in the artistic field as actor, author, producer and director, it is of four chapters, 192 pages of medium size. Dr. Jabbar Mahmoud al-Obeidi, an instructor in the department of fine arts at the college presented a newly released book entitled “value and the aesthetic criterion in contemporary fine arts”. It deals about the aesthetic standards and awareness in shape and configuration of fine arts in general and of sculpture in particular, it is of three chapters, (344) pages of medium size.
