The university of Baghdad addresses the problem of water scarcity in the agricultural lands

The college of agriculture at the university of Baghdad launched a large and an important campaign of reconstruction to address water scarcity by providing four strategic projects completed by the technical cadres where ten wells were drilled in modern ways by the general body of groundwater, one of those projects is providing a pipeline of (950) meters under the ground that pumps water electrically flowing into concrete basins and canals. The other project dealing with providing a pipeline of (560) meters flowing into large artificial-shaped basins to irrigate agricultural land by spraying or dripping while the project which was accomplished during the past years of (360 meters) length, (1) width and (50 cm) height. All of these projects aim to rationalize consumption, filling the shortage of water due to its lack from the source and providing water to all agricultural lands for the purpose of investing them agriculturally, as well helping all graduate students to complete their agricultural researches. In the same context, the engineering unit at the college began in rehabilitation of the main gate by a shed of colored brick where Dr. Hamza al-Zubaidi, dean of the college hinted that all of these projects come to fulfill the debt for that ancient college that graduated hundreds or thousands of professors and researchers who are working now in different state institutions.
