The college of engineering organizes an exhibition of energy projects

The department of energy engineering at the college of engineering, university of Baghdad, opened an exhibition of the projects of the students of the fourth grade including a presentation of modern works that keep pace with modernity and technological development in the field of energy and its specializations, so researches were delivered concerning these projects in the theoretical side. The department of energy engineering receives students and tries to develop their background knowledge in nuclear engineering, so this year the curriculum is consisted of (35%) for general engineering principles, (65 %) for scientific curriculum, while in the last grade (85%) of the curriculum is focused on nuclear engineering and (15%) for engineering projects made by students related to nuclear engineering applications and its concepts. From the academic year (1996-1997) bachelor degrees were given in four years in the applications of nuclear engineering, analysis, and operating the nuclear reactor and nuclear fission reactors and developing them as an energy source. The department works on to introduce new themes such as solar, hydropower, wind and groundwater energies in terms of their production and their economic feasibility and maintaining the study of nuclear engineering in the department and expanding it to include nuclear fusion and accelerators engineering. The projects of the students of the fourth grade of this year simulated the new energy innovations, especially using wind, hydropower and solar energies for generation of electricity and other projects in this field.
