The college of engineering opens the prospects of scientific engineering cooperation with Iranian universities
The unit of sports activity at the college of engineering, university of Baghdad, organized a football tournament for the scientific departments under the auspices of the dean prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Sahib. Preparations for this championship began by intensive training of the participating teams with participation of the ministry of youth and sports through donating sports equipment for the teams to encourage extracurricular activities of the students. In the same context, the dean of the college, Dr. Ahmed Abdul -Sahib, met heads of the sports teams at the scientific departments stressing on the importance of sports activities for their important role in the lives of students, wishing good luck to all the teams in this tournament. The college of engineering sent a group of its teaching faculty to the Islamic Republic of Iran to kee abreast with the reality of higher education in Iranian universities. The Iraqi delegation was represented by prof. Dr. Abbas Hamid Sulimon, prof. Dr. Adnan Naji Jamil, prof. Dr Mohamed Kassim Abdullah, assistant prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Mohsen al-Asadi and Dr. Haider Muhammad Makiya. The delegation visited Amir Kabir technological university and Sanati Sharif university that are equipped with the latest educational and research laboratories. The engineering delegation praised the scientific and academic potentials of the Iranian universities that won many creativity awards, expressing their thanks to the officials of the Islamic republic of Iran for their warm reception and practical cooperation as well as sending graduate students to the Islamic republic of Iran.
