The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the college of dentistry at the university of Baghdad organized the third course in dental implant with collaboration of the ministry of health. Prof. Dr. Thaer Abdul Latif gave a lecture with explanations, photos, video clips and practical applications on patients in the specialist hospital at the college. He explained that the course included the latest technologies in dental implant and that the participants took advantage of these courses more than those held abroad. Dr. Jamal Abed, head of the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery asserted that the college had made great strides in this field. This new technology implied removing sinus by balloon which is considered as a scientific qualitative breakthrough. The college witnessed in the past few years updating most of its departments equipped with the latest chemical and biological labs and dispatching most of its professors to other countries, besides hosting visiting professors for the purpose of transfer of knowledge and using modern technologies in line with its slogan “the university in service of society”.
