University of Baghdad celebrates the international woman’s day in recognition of her role in society

The president of the university of Baghdad, prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul said that “celebrating the international woman’ day is considered as recognition of her role in society as an instructor, a politician, a doctor, an engineer working in community service, so we salute her on this occasion for being able to exceed all obstacles that are facing her in reconstruction the country and making outstanding efforts to accelerate this process”. This came in his speech  during a meeting with a number of the university’s members and honoring them and added saying “this occasion had a global dimension since it was sponsored by the U.N and the official and non – official agencies and it became an annual tradition in recognition of her dignity and rights in the new Iraq that had a pioneering role in in the promotion of culture, development, peace, employment and public life. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein wished for women safety, success and progress in their work and their personal lives, The director of the department of information and public relations, Dr. Kazem Umran Musa in a speech at the ceremony said ” in light of new transitions and in order to establish peace and security and build a democratic governance and reconstruction, the department of information and public relations at the university of Baghdad celebrates this occasion recalling the role of women and her urgent participation in spite of the big challenges in Iraq during the past years that has proven her courage in confronting terrorism and violence, her active participation in the elections since her representation is not less than (25) percent of seats in the house of representatives. At the end of the ceremony, employees were honored by the president of the university and the department of information and public relations.
