The dean of the faculty of pharmacy at the university of Baghdad, prof. Saad Abdul Rahman, an instructor at the department of pharmacology and toxicology for receiving the first place award of higher education of sciences in 2013 in biology during an honorary ceremony held for the winners at the martyr al-Hakim’ hall at the university of Baghdad, organized by the ministry of higher education and scientific research under the patronage of his excellency the minister Ali Al -Adeeb to honor scientists and innovators. The department of pharmacology and toxicology was founded in 1971 for studying the effect of drugs on all body’s organs, different tissues and their side effects, toxins and their dosages. The department includes scientific laboratories specialized in pharmacology and toxicology, physiology for graduate studies, as well as the animal house. The college of pharmacy grants diploma in toxins, m.a and p.hd. degrees in pharmacology and toxicology.
