Department of biology at the college of science for women, University of Baghdad held a scientific symposium on the impact of climate on environment sponsored by dean of the college Prof. Dr. Ahlam Mohammed Farhan who delivered her speech at the opening of this event by addressing the phenomenon of climate change that is facing our world dramatically. She stated that as a result of burning of billions of tons of fuel, different gases have emitted which reflected our climate so international organizations like United Nations have addressed such environmental problems in Paris Convention of 2015. At the end of the symposium, the participants reached at several recommendations, the most important of which were to raise environmental awareness of members of society, encouragement in protection of environment, promote the provision of energy, reducing contaminants, exploiting the renewable energy resources such as solar and wind energy and emphasizing the need for rapid application of Paris Convention and other conventions in this regard.
