Baghdad University Opens Cultural and Scientific Cooperation Horizons with the Islamic University in Lebanon
A delegation from the University of Baghdad headed by Prof. Dr. Musa Jawad al-Moussawi president of the university accompanied with Director of Information and Public Relations Dr. Kadhem Al-Omran and Director of Cultural Relations Dr. Sabah Abbas visited the Islamic University in Lebanon following an invitation from thementioned university to the University of Baghdad to sign a memorandum of understanding of cultural and scientific cooperation and exchanges to continue the development of the reality of higher Education in Iraq with respect to the scientific and cultural activities , events and attending scientific conferences and developing the faculty members and postgraduate students research . It was agreed on the need to communicate between the Islamic University in Lebanon and the University of Baghdad.
The visit included honoring the scholar and legal thinker Hassan Abdul Hadi Al-Khalili and visiting the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Lebanon and visiting Ayatollah Imam Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan Vice President of Higher Shiite Islamic Council, Chairman of Board of IslamicTrustees University in Lebanon with the presence of Dr. Hassan Chalabi and the General secretary- Dr Abbas Nasrallah and Assistant Chairman of the Board of Trustees professor Nazeeh Jmoula.
The Delegation also held several meetings with the President of the Lebanese University Prof. Dr. Adnan Sayyed Hussein and the General Director of Higher Education at the Ministry of Higher Education and Education Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Jamal and met the President of the Association of LebanonUniversities , Father Walid Musa. The visit also included viewing the cultural and archeologicalmonuments , cultural universities and centers in Lebanon . The Memorandum of Understanding have agreed to develop academic, scientific and cultural projects to take advantage by faculty members, students and administrators in both universities, and the exchange contractors visitors from administrative and technical devices and intensify visits for training or the exchange of experiences and books, publications and scientific journals and the results of researches in all scientific fields.
