Iraq relations under regional transformations in a symposium at Center for International Studies

 
A number of professors at the center for strategic and international studies, University of Baghdad participated in a symposium hosted by the Center for Arabic and international studies at Mustansiriya University entitled “Iraq relations under regional environmental transformations”. Assistant Prof. Dr. Mona Hussein Aubaid presented a paper entitled “Iraqi-Turkish relations and political stability parameters” in which she discussed the Iraqi-Turkish relations after the 2003 in the light of three key issues namely, Kurds, Kirkuk and Mosul. In the commercial field, Turkey is considered as Iraq’s second trading partner after Germany where it opened to Iraq economically by adopting an approach that might be more sustainable by adopting soft power which means achieving influence through culture, education and trade since the trade volume between Baghdad and Ankara reached to (12) billion dollars a year. Assistant Prof. Dr. Khlood Mohammed Khamis participated in this symposium through her paper “Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations in light of the changing regional challenges after 2003″, Assistant Prof. Dr. Sudad Mawlood Sabie presented a paper under the title “strategic pillars of the Iraqi–Turkish relations”, Assistant Prof. Dr. Amir Hashim Awad submitted the paper “US policy towards Iraq for the next stage” and Assistant Prof. Dr. Nagham Nathir Shukr who delivered a paper entitled “the ethical dimension of the decision-maker and the Iraqi external strategic planning”.
