University of Baghdad entered for the first time in (UI GreenMetric World University Ranking) specialized in preserving the environment. The director of the department of quality assurance and university performance at Baghdad University, Assistant Prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul Hamid stated that the university gained the (420) rank out (516) global universities from (74) countries around the world. It is worth mentioning that this ranking is specialized in preserving the environment depending on a set of standards adopted within the geographical location of our university, energy and alternative energy, waste treatment methods, mechanism for water conservation, transport, pollution control, education and promoting the culture of sustainability.
