Faculty of medicine at University of Baghdad held in conjunction with the 89th anniversary of its founding its 15th annual scientific conference under the banner “sober scientific research of the college of medicine-University of Baghdad: A scientific triumph that accompanies the triumphs on our security troops and valiant popular crowd” sponsored by the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razak al-Issa, president of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein and the representative of the minister of health and environment Dr. Abdul Amir al-Mukhtar. Dean of the faculty of medicine, Prof. Dr. Ali Kamil al-Shalji gave a speech in this event in which he talked about this ancient edifice founded in 1927. Al-Shalji stated that this conference included 96 sober papers, 17 workshops and one scientific lecture with the participation of college students. Speeches of the ministers and their representatives that praised the role of professors in the development of medical education and services in medical institutions and called for strengthening cooperation between the ministries of health and higher education in order to enhance medical curricula in Iraq. The conference also dealt with applied and clinical research and its impact on community and other fields such as modern techniques for laboratories, Royal Colleges and on the sidelines of this conference, exhibitions were held for medical instruments and medicines.
