Center for women’s studies in cooperation with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) calls for activation of Security Council resolution (1325)


Center for Women’s Studies at University of Baghdad participated in a conference organized by the department of social studies at al-Nahrain center for strategic studies in cooperation with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) under the title “Activatation of resolution (1325): Reality and ambition”. This participation was represented by an academic official delegation including Director Assistant Prof. Dr. Siham Mutasher al-Qabi and number of researchers of the center. At the end of the conference, the researchers provided scientific and academic interventions that promoted the implementation of this resolution in Iraq and its reflections on Iraqi women. It is worth mentioned that this Security Council resolution (1325) was passed in (2000) and it has recognized the importance of the equal and full participation of women in society as active agents in prevention of conflict and in peace negotiations.
