Lecture on the mechanism of cleaning solar panels at the faculty of education

The faculty of education for pure sciences (Ibn al- Haitham), University of Baghdad organized a scientific lecture entitled “using Nano-material for coating glass surfaces as self-cleaning surfaces” delivered by the teacher Dr. Abdul Karim Abdul Hussein Al-Khafaji within the scientific season sponsored by the department of physics in the presence of a number of professors and graduate students at the department. Al-Khafaji recalled the main problems facing the use of solar energy, especially solar panels used in streetlights such as the accumulation of dust and pollutants on the surfaces of such panels that would result in reducing the permeability and electricity production of them, so it became necessary to find a way to clean them through coating with Nano-dioxide titanium so these panels would be self-cleaned in sunlight via breaking the bonds of hydrocarbon pollutants transforming them into dioxide carbon and water used for displacing all contaminants including dust.
