Department of astronomy holds a symposium entitled environmental changes due to astronomical events

  Under the auspices of the dean of the faculty of science at Baghdad university, prof. Dr. Fadhil Abid Risn, the department of astronomy and space held its scientific symposium entitled “environmental changes due to astronomical events” at the hall of the department that dealt with the phenomenon of high atmospheric temperature or global warming where Dr. Bushra Qasim Naqib, head of department that the reason behind this phenomenon can be attributed to two reasons, the first is industrial renaissance and the second and the more important is the astronomical phenomena plaguing earth according to a specific schedule and that these phenomena may represent specific courses for explosions such as that occurring on the sun known as sunspots, emitting large amounts of heat energy towards earth. For his part the dean praised the active efforts by professors at the department of preliminary studies’ development. Dr. Bushra Qasim Naqib gave a shield of the department of astronomy to the dean during the opening of an exhibition of photographs and equipment used by the department. It is worth mentioning that the astronomers at this department were able to observe solar and lunar eclipses phenomena earlier.
