College of science for women embraces the 2nd national conference on chemistry
College of science for women at the university of Baghdad held the 2nd national scientific conference at the department of chemistry entitled “chemistry is the mirror of development” under the auspices of the minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Hussein al-Shahristani and direct supervision of the president of Baghdad university, professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool, in the presence of prof. Dr. Ahlam Mohammed Farhan, dean of the faculty of science for women, prof. Dr. Mirza Hamza al-Murshidi, dean of the faculty of science at the university of Kufa, prof. Tahsin Hussein Mubarak, dean of science at the university of Diyala and a number of specialized professors within and outside of the college. The president of the university called for promoting and directing scientific research in the fields of pure and applied chemistry to serve the overall development of our dear country and to activate knowledge and experience through direct interaction between researchers in the various governorates of Iraq and to adopt a clear strategy on relations between the departments of chemistry and research and productive institutions. The conference discussed more than 90 papers on various branches of chemistry aimed at research and development in the fields of medicine, industry and environment. A number of deans and sponsors of the conference were honored by the rector such as the center for petroleum research and development.
