Baghdad university signs memorandum of understanding with New York university, Abu Dhabi

A delegation from the university of Baghdad, headed by prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool visited the university of New York in Abu Dhabi for signing a memorandum of understanding to support joint scientific research between the two universities through the reception of professors and joint research, especially in cultivation of Iraqi and Emirati palms through advanced genetic study in Iraq in preparation for the adoption of Iraqi strains as a reference reliable worldwide. The president of Baghdad university delivered a speech referreing to the history of mother of Iraqi universities, its great achievements attended particularly in recent years, the number of professors, researchers and students and openness to advanced and sober universities and that our university is looking for joint research and exchange of professors in various disciplines and training courses for instructors and researchers and other joint scientific activities. For his part, the president of the university of New York, Abu Dhabi prof. Fabio Piano gave an overview about the cooperation between the two universities which concluded with signing a memorandum of understanding that supports joint scientific research. After that the president of the university of New York granted the university shield to the president of Baghdad university while the later gave him the university shield and a palm design as a commemorative symbol representing the history of the civilization of Mesopotamia. The Iraqi delegation included the president of Baghdad university, prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool, prof. Dr. Shakir Abdul Amir al-Attar, dean of the college of agriculture at Baghdad university, assistant prof. Dr. Ayad Kazem Zaghir, director of scholarships and cultural relations at the university and assistant prof. Dr. Saad Eddin Khairallah, head of palm unit at the college of agriculture.
