Center for strategic studies at the university of Baghdad holds a workshop on the foreign policy of Iraq towards Afro-Asiatic states

  Center for strategic and international studies at Baghdad university, in cooperation with the department of Asia and Australia at the ministry of foreign affairs held a workshop entitled “the foreign policy of Iraq and Afro-Asiatic states at the beginning of the third millennium” in the framework of openness to state departments and providing academic counseling for achieving its slogan “university in the service of society”. The workshop included several topics related to Iraqi relations with Asian countries and the economic, political and cultural relations. The first session was chaired by assistant professor Dr. Hamid Fadhil, an instructor at the college of political sciences at Baghdad university. Research papers included “the Asian-Iraqi relations” by Dr. Jawad al-Hindawi, director general of the department of Asia and Australia at the ministry of foreign affairs, “foreign policy planning: a theoretical framework” by assistant prof. Dr. Ali Dreul al-Jubori, director of the center for strategic and international studies, “Iraqi-African relations: reality and prospects” by prof. Dr. Abdul Salam Ibrahim bagdadi, “starting points of Iraqi foreign policy towards Arab countries of Morocco: suggestions and determinants” by assistant prof. Dr. Khairi Abdul-Razzaq al-Jassim. The second session was chaired by prof. Dr. Hamid Hamad al-Saadoun that dealt with the following papers: “Iraqi foreign policy towards Iran” by assistant prof. Dr. Satar Jabbar Allai, “Iraqi-African relations in the field of oil” by Dr. Maher Mujhed al-Dailami from the department of Asia and Australia at the foreign ministry, “cooperation in the Iraqi-Chinese relations” by assistant prof. Dr. Amir Hashim Awad, “Iraqi foreign policy towards Turkey since the beginning of the third millennium” by assistant prof. Dr. Dina Hatif Maki, “Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations: harbingers and future visions” by assistant prof. Dr. Moufid al-Zaidi. At the end of the workshop, door was opened for discussion and interventions that have enriched this political theme, as well as highlighting the Iraqi foreign relations with other countries
