President of university of Baghdad receives the Iranian cultural adviser and his accompanying delegation
President of university of Baghdad, Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul received in his office the Iranian cultural adviser, A. Gholamreza Abuzar and director of scientific and academic relations in the Iranian cultural chancellery, Ali Tahayi. This meeting was attended by Dr. Iyad Kadhim Zaghir, director of scholarships and cultural relations in the presidency of the university of Baghdad and Dr. Ahmed Hamid Shaalan, director of ceremonies unit. Mr. president of Baghdad university welcomed the guests and praised the active role of Iranian universities through their support for Baghdad university and he gave a brief about its great achievements in various fields of science, culture and humanity. Then the Iranian cultural adviser expressed the great desire if the Iranian side to cooperate with the university of Baghdad in various fields through their support to the library of the college of languages by providing more than one thousand books in Persian language and hosting of professors and students of Iraqi universities in the Islamic republic of Iran. The two parties discussed a number of suggestions submitted by the Iranian cultural adviser to send Iranian professors in different scientific specializations to deliver lectures at Baghdad university and from its side the universities of the Islamic republic of Iran is ready to receive the students of the department of Persian language during summer vacation for training and participation in seminars and other scientific conferences. Mr. president stressed on several key points such as welcoming the idea of reception of professors through the (visiting professor program) sponsored by the ministry of higher education and scientific research, to give lectures especially in nanotechnology, medicine and information engineering. Also he stressed the need to keep abreast with the latest scientific techniques at the Iranian universities and laboratories and the need for sending graduate students (in the search phase) for a month or two to get some knowledge in scientific experiments there to encourage the professors of our university towards attaining great scientific achievements.
