University of Baghdad adopts the electronic admission for graduate studies
University of Baghdad launched working on the electronic admission for graduate studies for the academic year (2014 – 2015) that began on the first of July this year and ending on the fourteenth of August next on the channels identified by the ministry of higher education and scientific research. The president of the university, professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein stated that “after a research study conducted by the presidency of the university of Baghdad, modern technologies and programs has been adopted for the electronic admission for master and doctorate degrees and there is a coordination with the computer center at the university and the department of graduate studies to reach at a format in this regard that will serve the applicant and the university at the same time”. The assistant of the university president for scientific affairs, Dr. Osama Fadhil Abdul Latif, stated the application would be done by intranet for the opened specializations at the colleges and the institutes according to the central regulations and instructions, bringing their personal documents loaded on a (CD) and then checking these information electronically. The university of Baghdad expects a significant increase in the number of applicants for postgraduate studies in this year due to the scientific level of science of its students and its high sobriety and reputation as the mother of universities, calling the applicants to be in contact with the university website where the competitive exam for the applicants would be on the 7th of September next and the date for the English exam would be on the 8th of the same month, while on the 9th of the month, the computer efficiency exam would be conducted since the university inaugurated computer labs for this purpose. For their part, the graduate students praised this step since it eliminates the standard routine in government departments. The university of Baghdad is considered as the first Iraqi university that adopts this kind of admission for graduate studies, as well as announcement of the results of preliminary and graduate studies through the website.
