A new study at the university of Baghdad provides modern service and technology for the industrial sector


A master thesis was discussed in the department of automated manufacturing engineering at the  faculty of engineering, university of Baghdad, submitted by the student (Marwa Kazem Kata) entitled “speculation of operating system by magnetic grinding with the use of artificial neural network model”. The thesis dealt with speculation and simulation of the impact of the coefficient of operating system by magnetic grinding process on the rate of material removal and surface roughness of cylindrical aluminum (2024) with artificial neural network model. The researcher showed the relationship between inputs and the rate of material removal and surface roughness by using regression model and classifying the operating system, manufacturing the operating machine by magnetic grinding and magnetic poles, preparation of its powder by mixing iron oxide with the powder of manufactured diamond. The experiments resulted in generating eight inputs selected from three levels depending on the matrix of the angle of magnetic poles, clearance, size of powder grains, amount of the powder, the power, speed, speed of the magnetic poles and run-time, respectively. Results indicated that regression model showed decreasing in the angle of magnetic poles to ° 30 ° 30 that leads to an increase of the rate of material removal, while decreasing of the speed from (rpm 679) to (567 rpm) led to an increase of surface roughness. This study is considered as one of the excellent researches at the local and the regional levels and it was under the supervision of the assistant prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Kadhim, assistant prof. Dr. Faiz Fawzi Mustafa from al-Khwarizmi college of engineering. Chairman of discussion committee was assistant prof. Dr. Sorour Khader Hussein from the department of mechanical engineering at the college of engineering, university of Baghdad and the membership of Dr. Hamid Mahdi Saleh and assistant prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Mohammed from the department of mechanical engineering at al-Nahrain university.
