The national center for cancer researches at the university of Baghdad hosts the meeting of the committee of medical specialties
The national center for cancer researches at the university of Baghdad hosted the meeting of the committee of medical specialties related to the scientific research board at the ministry of higher education and scientific research to discuss ways to develop the medical and educational fields in Iraq. The meeting was chaired by prof. Dr. Nada al-Alwan who reviewed themes of a report entitled ” the first national workshop for building capacities in the ethics of health and medical researches” organized by the center in cooperation with the R & D department at the ministry. The report dealt with the strategy of scientific research in the medical field, self-analysis of the current infrastructure of the ministries of higher education and health, priorities of research in these two ministries, recommendations approved by his excellency minister of higher education and scientific research and the scientific research board held last year. The attendants who represented the universities of Baghdad, Mustansiriya, Babylon, Nahrain and the technical education board, discussed projects for innovation of other centers and medical research units at the universities of Kufa and Mosul, dealing with the major challenges facing the reality of the scientific research process in Iraq and finding solutions to overcome those obstacles. It is worth mentioning that that last session of this workshop was sponsored by the minister, prof. Ali Mohammed Hussein al-Adeeb for the development of research skills and ethics of the medical colleges’ students, publishing researches in international journals with impact factor, evaluation of internal and external environment of Iraq, focusing on the importance of reviewing information, introducing a system for data storage through an integrated database, stressing on cooperation between partners and establishing scientific networks with other global research institutions concerned.
