College of arts inaugurates a museum documenting its scientific, cultural and historical legacy

The dean of the college of arts at Baghdad University, prof. Dr. Faisal Ghazi Majhool, inaugurated a museum in an effort to keep the scientific, cultural and historic legacy of the college which is considered as the first nucleus of the university of Baghdad. The museum includes old photos of the college professors and students with a brief explanation of its departments and achievements, copies of the first M.A and Ph.D theses discussed at the college and the first issues of the journal of arts. Prof. Dr. Faisal Ghazi said in a statement: “The idea of ​​this exhibition evolved recently and in spite of its simplicity but we seek to develop it so that to reflect the civilized, historical and scientific image of the college and our university since it is the first nucleus for documenting the history of the scientific process”. This inauguration coincided with a book fair of scientific, intellectual and cultural publications authored by the instructors with the presence of heads of scientific departments, a number of graduate students, media and those concerned.
