Al-Kindy college of medicine organizes a lecture on the recent advances of brain endoscope

The unit for continuing education at al-Kindy college of medicine at the university of Baghdad organized a lecture on the recent advances of brain endoscope as part of its weekly activities. Prof. Laith Thamer gave lecture in which he confirmed that doctors became more dependent on endoscope surgery to eradicate or treat brain tumors without making a large slit in the skull, since it enables the patient to spend a time not more than (72) hours at hospital while previously it needed more than one month hospitalization in case of standard surgery. The researcher said that since 2000, nearly (1800) surgery were executed for the brain by adopting this technology. In 2003 new developed technologies were introduced to treat (280) tumors only through opening 1 centimeter slit in the skull.
