The department of biology held an introductory lecture on the first international conference of modern technologies in the field of biotechnology and genetic engineering at the university of science and technology/Amman – Jordan delivered by assistant prof. Dr. Isra Abdul-Jabbar Ibrahim, the instructor at the department of biology at the college of education for pure sciences – Ibn al-Haytham at the seminar hall on 09/02/2014. Assistant prof. Dr. Isra Abdul-Jabbar Ibrahim, assistant prof. D. Rana Mujahid Abdullah and assistant prof. D. Lama Abdul Hadi Zuwein participated also in a conference held on 5-8/10/2013 to keep abreast of the researches amounted to (200) in number from various countries and its impact on scientific development addressing the following scientific themes:
1 . Environmental biotechnology.
2 . Industrial biotechnology.
3 . Biomedical technology.
4 . Plant biotechnology.
5 . Pharmaceutical biotechnology.
6 . Biological treatment.
7 . Nano-biotechnology.
8 . Microbial diversity.
The conference also included three workshops:
1 . PCR in practice.
2 . The use of biotechnology in drug discovery.
3 . Genetic relatedness among bacteria using molecular biology.
The instructors participated in two workshops, the first one was held at the center of princess Haya at the university of science and technology and the second one dealt with several modern equipment and how to use them to conduct researches to raise the level of the scientific level and the international classification of our university.
