The college of veterinary medicine at the university of Baghdad participates in the conference of the ministry of agriculture

The college of veterinary medicine at the university of Baghdad participated in the 4th annual conference to develop buffalo under the slogan (together to develop the buffalo of Mesopotamia) held under the auspices of the division of livestock under the auspices of the minister of agriculture, Dr. Izz al-Din Abdullah al-Dola. A number of professors and teaching faculty attended the conference that was presided prof. Dr. Afaf Abdel- Rahman Yusuf (head of internal and preventive medicine department) and the decision-maker of the department,,prof. Dr. Ali Fadhil Alwan. During the conference, a number of lectures were delivered on how to develop and maintain buffalo which is a national treasure. The conference was attended by the technical agent of the ministry of agriculture,  Dr. Mahdi Thamad al-Qaisi, the adviser of the ministry for the activity of livestock, Dr. Khaild al-sarai, the advisor of the ministry for the activity of plants, Dr. Faisal Rasheed Nasser, a member of the Iraqi council of representatives and member of the committee on economy and investment, Mr. Abdul-Abbas al- Shaiaa, the first deputy of the governor of Baghdad, Mr. Jassem Mohan, the adviser of the governor, Mr. Rauf Ahmed Hussein, the director of the veterinary division, Dr. Salah Fadel, the director general of planning and follow-up, Dr. Mohammed Hassan Koutaiba and a number of specialists in the agricultural and livestock fields. It is worth mentioning that the ministry of agriculture believes in the collective action, not the individual one and it is cooperating with the other relevant agencies to develop the agricultural sector with its plant and livestock divisions and to raise the standard of living of the citizen and farmer down to self-sufficiency. On the sidelines of the conference, the ministry of agriculture honored a number of distinguished researchers with the shield of excellence including late assistant prof. Dr. Saleem Najim Imran, an instructor of the college of veterinary medicine for his great services to the division of livestock regarding breeding and reproduction of the buffalo.
