The university of Baghdad holds a great central festival on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Abi Abdullah Al-Hussein (peace be upon him)

The university of Baghdad held its central Husseinian festival sponsored by the minister of higher education and scientific research  and  through direct supervision by the president of the university of Baghdad, prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein. The festival addressed the goals of the Husseinian revolution and the speeches of the magnificent Zainab and Imam Zain Al Abidin Bin Al-Hussein (peace be upon them). The  president of the university called in a speech at the opening of the festival to deriving lessons from this sad occasion for the hearts of all Muslims, understanding its goals, deriving lessons in solidarity, unity and peaceful co-existence, praying to Almighty God to preserve Iraq and its people from everything evil to its security and all that disturbs life that requires construction and love among all people. The festival began with an introductory statement by the dean of the college of Islamic sciences, prof. Dr. Mohammad Jawad al-Turaihi entitled “Revolution of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him”. The festival included reading a poem by Dr. Kazem Omran titled ” O Hussein ” and delivering the speech of magnificent Zainab (peace be upon her) by Insijam Ghraoui.  Then scientific sessions began to read researches and lectures, chaired by  assistant of the president of university for administrative affairs, prof. Dr. Hussein Yousef with participation of Dr Safed Hossam Hamoudi, an instructor in the department of media and public relations at the university, Dr. Iyad Muhammad Ali from the college of education (Ibn Rushd) with a lecture entitled ” the objectives of the Husseinian revolution”, a lecture by professor Dr. Abdul Karim al-Araji of the college of education for women entitled ” the sermon of Imam Zain Al Abidin (peace be upon him). In addition to lectures and studies by researchers and instructors. The festival concluded with Islamic poems performed by Ahbab Al-Hussain choir at the college of Islamic sciences expressing their love and loyalty to Imam Hussein and its goals depending on the values ​​of jihad, heroism and sacrifice.
