The college of education (Ibn al-Haytham) prepares to inaugurate a central service laboratory

The deanery of the college of education for pure sciences (Ibn al-Haytham) at the university of Baghdad prepares under the guidance of the minister of higher education and scientific research, prof. Ali Mohamed Hussein al-Adeeb for the inauguration of the central service laboratory equipped with the latest scientific equipments for postgraduate students, professors and researchers. The lab consists of an atomic absorption device which is used to conduct a quantitative analysis of the elements in percentage or (ppm), a differential scanning device that is used to determine a wide range of physical and chemical properties of materials such as the temperature of glass transition, degree of fusion, the temperature of crystallization and a thermal polarized microscope which is used to study the nature of the transitions and diagnosis forms microscopic phases of liquid crystalline mediated by microscopic examination, a device to analyze amino acids, a flame spectrometer device used to measure the concentration of alkaline elements in water as it has four filters for sodium , potassium and calcium and lithium and these elements can be measured at the same time by the same sample, a device for elements analysis that is used for rapid identification of elements like carbon, hydrogen , nitrogen, sulfur and oxygen in organic content. Also a multi-functional electronic microscope characterized with a high pictorial ability and a double lens up to resolution (.0 nm), magnification (~ 300,000 X) , a infrared spectrometer used to measure the wavelength and the intensity of the absorbing radiation, a UV and visible ray spectrometer used to measure the wavelength and the intensity of absorbing radiation with high accuracy up to (1 nm), a fluorination spectrometer that uses a flash xenon lamp that is characterized with fast performance, high sensitivity, measuring the light emission in four modes and captures data every (12.5) million the second, and a genetic analysis device (3500) characterized with high efficiency and ease of use.
