The university of Baghdad holds a symposium of the modern applications of surveying engineering

The department of surveying engineering in the college of engineering at the university of Baghdad held a symposium of the new technologies for surveying engineering and how to employ them in various engineering applications for students of the first stage. The instructors of the department gave several lectures such as a lecture by Dr. Fanar Mansour Abid, head of department entitled ” surveying engineering and geomatics engineering: concepts and applications”, a lecture by Dr. Maytham matshar Sharki, the decision-maker of the department entitled “the use of modern technologies in the production of topographic maps” in which he explained  how to employ modern technologies like surveying devices and software to produce maps of different types. Then Dr. Uday Yassin Mohammed Zaki gave a lecture on the use of global positioning system in determining spatial positions(GPS)besides taking advantage of them in mobility through the use of nvekitorao or modern mobiles that are equipped with this type of technology. Assistant professor, Omar Ali gave a lecture on electronic devices used in surveying, the most important of which is the integrated station.  At the end of the seminar, the head of the department thanked the instructors who participated in giving lectures and explained to the students some important issues concerning their university life, wishing them success in their academic career.
