The university of Baghdad honored its top graduate students of the day and evening studies for the academic year 2013/2014 . The president of university, prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein said in a speech with the opening ceremony that this award is a tribute, a moral one which is more precious and more honoring than the material tribute, since the scientific progress is the standard and the measure for the Nations’ promotion, so science and work is the basis for progress. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein addressed the top graduated students to translate what they learned at university in the labor market and that sincerity should be the slogan lifted always. He invited them to be a model in good dealing with others, describing man as the result of morality and science because human morality or science alone can not be virtuous . The president of the university of Baghdad stresses that the university is distinguished in global circles and it has achieved significant progress and its fine reputation drives it to boast with its graduates wherever they be. This reputation reflected on the level of the students when they go out of Iraq to complete their postgraduate studies and the scientific achievement they accomplish makes them the focus of praise by those responsible of the educational process in global universities outside Iraq . Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein thanked those who supported and contributed in honoring the top graduate students , including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Industry,Minerals, health and the governorate of Baghdad. Then the scientific assistant of the president of the university, Dr. Alaa Jamil Mohammed, delivered a speech in which he congratulated the top graduates and invited them to translate their success and their scientific superiority in work field, to continue their postgraduate studies, contributing in raising the name of Iraq high through the advancement of the educational process thus contributing in building the new Iraq. Then ceremonies were held to honor top graduate students by the general inspector of the ministry of health, Dr. Zafer Abdul Hassan, the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, the president of Baghdad university, the scientific assistant. Also the director of the department of media and public relations at the university, Dr. Kazem Omran granted the shield of excellence for the top university student Mai Abdul Hamid Hashim and he distributed certificates of appreciation to the top graduates. For their part, the students expressed their satisfaction, joy and gratitude to the University of Baghdad for this honor which reflects care and keenness of Baghdad University towards her preeminent students.
