The center for urban and regional planning for graduate studies at the University of Baghdad held recently an online training course on (Green Areas Planning in the City) with the participation of more than 148 participants from US, Egypt, Germany, Jordan, South Korea, Turkey, Russia and the Netherlands.

The course dealt with the urban planning of Baghdad and reviewed coping strategies towards the use of open spaces according to sustainable development principles since the urban green spaces plays a vital role in heat reduction, mitigate the climate change, reduce soil erosion by wind or water and become a support for wildlife; therefore, promoting biodiversity.
