University of Baghdad organizes a mourning vigil for the martyrs of the popular mobilization

University of Baghdad represented by its professors, staff and students has organized a mourning vigil for the lives of the popular mobilization martyrs targeted by US planes in Baghdad. The university rector, Prof. Dr. Imad Hussein Mirza Al-Husseini stated during his speech that the heroes of the popular mobilization, including the vice president of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Haj Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and General Qassim Soleimani (May God bless them) have been the victims of the blatant and treacherous attack of the American administration and its forces on their motorcade on the way to Baghdad International Airport.

Such an attack is a flagrant violation of international norms and conventions in general and an infringement on Iraq’s national sovereignty which is an act that requires the supreme Iraqi authorities, represented by the presidency of the Republic, the government and parliament to take the necessary official measures in condemning it through international, regional and national means. The employees of the University of Baghdad expressed their deep sadness at the martyrdom of those leaders in Iraq by praising their heroism and sacrifices on the battlefields and their decisive war against ISIS.
