Representatives of the college of veterinary Medicine has recently participated in a scientific workshop sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Iraq entitled (Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever) held at Rashid Hotel in Baghdad in the presence of a large number of researchers and professors from inside and outside Iraq as well as members from the ministries of higher education, health, environment and agriculture.

The aim of the workshop is to publicize the importance of the single health concept in relation with this disease caused by a highly virulent and widespread virus transmitted by the tick parasite, endemic in Africa, Balkans, Middle East, Asia including Iraq and neighboring countries. The participants stressed on the joint efforts between the related sectors and praised the distinguished efforts of Dr. Mouloud Abbas Ali al-Ghribawi in organizing this event.
