The University of Baghdad concluded a scientific and cultural memorandum of understanding with the University of Florence, Italy after its eight articles being ratified by His Excellency the Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi. This memorandum provided for the establishment of joint relations of cooperation in various fields of higher education and scientific research as well as the development of activities and academic events between the two sides on condition that subjected to the law of the University of Florence.
Also a scientific exchange program was established between the department of educational and psychological sciences of the University of Florence with its counterparts in the University of Baghdad including the department of scholarships and cultural relations, the departments of Italian and Arabic languages.
The provisions of this memorandum would enable the exchange of visits between the two sides, in addition to the possibility of holding conferences, seminars and workshops along with joint scientific research and publication in scientific journals. It is noteworthy that this memorandum will enter into force for five years, renewable after ratification.
