Prof. Dr. Muna Hussein Obaid, a researcher from the center for strategic and international studies at the University of Baghdad participated in the second international scientific conference for humanities through her research paper entitled (The dimensions of Turkish foreign policy towards the countries of the African continent) held at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey. In this study, Dr. Muna focused on the nature of Turkey’s foreign policy and its political, economic, commercial, security and even military motives evolving after the coming of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) to power in 2002.

The researcher found out the obstacles faced by the African countries, namely the lack of response from the African sides towards the Turkish side’s attempts to invest in Africa and the lack of knowledge of African businessmen of the Turkish market in addition to the weak participation of the African countries in Turkish exhibitions, as well as the diversity and lack of clarity of special investment laws in Africa which makes the Turkish investor less enthusiastic, more fearful, and unserious in dealing with some African institutions.
