Center for Women’s Studies at University of Baghdad hosted a delegation from the Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) headed by Prof. Dr. Richard Hennig and his entourage along with the specialist in the Middle East Program Matthew Schweitzer. This delegation’s visit was to open up prospects for cooperation with this center since it is the only official institution in Iraq concerned with women’s affairs.
The delegation clarified that (EPIC) foundation would provide the center with the necessary information for governmental and non-governmental policy-making, monitoring and evaluation of conflict resolution as well as the technical support. A memorandum of understanding has been concluded between the two parties to create community dialogues, community and sectarian conflict resolution. At the conclusion of this visit, the two sides agreed to conduct a number of joint activities as well as to provide training for the members at the center and conducting a number of researches at the Iraqi level.
