Dean of the institute for urban and regional planning for postgraduate studies, Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hussein al-Askari and a number of professors participated in the international scientific conference for sustainable engineering held by the Middle Technical University. Assist. Prof. Dr. Nada Khalifa Al-Rakabi presented two papers, the first one is entitled (The role of the social dimension in the applicability of smart cities in Iraq) while the second paper is entitled (the city’s eco-applications and standards in Amara district) as a case study. The dean of the center chaired the first research session of civil and architectural engineering in the field of modern technologies for sustainable engineering with the participation of many researchers and international scientific evaluators from several international universities and research centers in the fields of the civil, architectural, environmental, mechanical, electrical as well as energy engineering.
