Dean of the college of languages Assistant Prof. Dr. Ghaida Qais Ibrahim received an academic delegation from Canada to discuss ways of joint scientific and cultural cooperation. The delegation presented its program for the development of specialized teaching staff in English language at the college of languages through free courses which is expected to begin in March the next after obtaining the official approvals from the university presidency. The delegation was briefed on the laboratories at the department of English language and met a number of students who expressed for their enthusiasm to achieve advanced levels of mastery of English. For its part the Canadian delegation expressed its readiness to develop the English language department by upgrading the scientific capabilities of teaching staff there. Also the delegation offered a proposal to teach the Chinese language through cooperation with Chinese bodies.
