Dr. Ali Abdul Hassan from the department of statistics at the college of administration and economics participated in the conference of young researchers of mathematics held and sponsored by the University of Oxford by presenting a research entitled “Hitchin-thorpe Inequality in quasi Einstein metrics”. The research examines the application of Hitchin-Thorpe Inequality in the areas of Einstein manifolds by studying Ricci soliton especially in Gradient Ricci soliton. This research is part of a doctoral thesis where Quasi-Einstein metrics were first applied and Koiso-cao soliton and Lu-page and Pope metric were dealt with as a case study so as examine the necessary and insufficient condition for each theory of the mathematicians Carcia-rio and Homare Tadano.
