Higher institute of financial studies holds its second national conference for postgraduate students

Higher institute of financial and accounting studies at University of Baghdad held its second national conference for postgraduate students under the slogan “accounting and financial creativity in the service of community”. Dean of the institute and Chairman of the preparatory committee, Prof. Dr. Mowaffaq Abdul Hussein stressed the importance of making further efforts to establish such specialized conferences that support postgraduate students and contribute to urging researches to solve problems faced by our Iraqi national economy. Prime Minister’s advisor for economic affairs, Prof. Dr. Muzhir Mohammed Salih delivered his research paper during which he addressed a range of old economic plans and strategic methods that were adopted before till the present stating that the Iraqi economy depends on central ecosystem that includes small intermediate companies within large companies, distributors and consumers which contributes effectively in reducing unemployment around the world.

Faculty of dentistry participates in a symposium at Al-Yarmouk University College

Faculty of dentistry at University of Baghdad participated in the expanded scientific symposium held at the department of dentistry, Al-Yarmouk University College attended by dean of the college, the captain dentists and an elite of professors at the college. Captain dentists praised during his speech such specialized conferences and seminars that may inhance the theoretical and practical levels of Iraqi dentists and motivate legitimate competition between the civil and governmental colleges in this regard, confirming that al-Yarmouk University College is one of the leading colleges in this field and it is a junior college when compared to government dentistry colleges. Dean of the college of dentistry at University of Baghdad delivered a valuable lecture on teeth and root fillings.

Faculty of dentistry inaugurates its seventh exhibition

Student Activities Unit at the faculty of dentistry, University of Baghdad set up its seventh exhibition of art paintings that reflected the reality of our Iraqi society and the victories made by our heroes in armed forces. This exhibition was opened by Associate Dean for administrative affairs, Prof. Dr. Raghad al-Hashemi and it was attended by professors and members at the college.

Minister of higher education and scientific research inspects final exams at the faculty of engineering

His Excellency Minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq al-Issa inspected the final exams at the faculty of engineering, University of Baghdad, Jadiriyah and during his tour His Excellency stressed the need to provide the best services to our students since they represent the strategic depth of the future of Iraq and he wished all students of Iraq success and conciliation. Al-Issa was accompanied by president of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein and dean of the college of engineering, Prof. Dr. Saba Jabbar Nima and then His Excellency inspected the final exams at the faculty of agriculture.

Al-Khwarizmi College of engineering participates in the international conference in the college of engineering

Head of department of automated manufacturing engineering at al-Khwarizmi College of engineering, Prof. Dr. Faiz Fawzi Mustafa participated in the seventh international conference on engineering held and sponsored by the faculty of engineering under the auspices of IEEE Foundation. The conference entitled (Recent trends in engineering sciences and sustainability) and it included several researches in industrial, engineering and technological fields that serve labor market. Dr. Faiz Fawzi Mustafa presented his research entitled (a comparative study of product data exchange among CAD systems) that won the approval of the attendants.

Conclusion of Ping pong tournament at al-Kindy College of medicine

The friendly Ping pong tournament for professors of University of Baghdad for the academic year (2016 – 2017) held at the gym of the sports unit of al-Kindy College of medicine was concluded with the winning of director of the sports unit at the faculty of pharmacy, Prof. Raad Thaer and Dr. Sabah Mahdi from the department of physiology won the second place.

Researchers from Al-Khwarizmi College of engineering participate in the international education conference in Izmir

Head of department of bio-chemical engineering, Assistant Prof. Dr. Shatha Kazim, instructor at the department of life medicine engineering and Dr. Muntaha Razak Ibrahim at Al-Khwarizmi College of engineering, University of Baghdad participated in the international conference on education and science research held in Izmir, Turkey under the auspices of Iowa State University and the medical school in East Virginia. The conference aimed at scientific cooperation between the two sides to discuss theoretical and practical problems faced by researchers and employees (supervisors and students) in the participating countries, especially Arab countries, such as Iraq, Egypt, Palestine and Sudan. Dr. Shatha Kazim participated with a paper entitled (electrochemical behavior of puretitaniumim planting in acidic artificial saliva), while Dr. Muntaha Razak Ibrahim participated with a paper entitled (effect of lipidium sativum water extract in some fertility parameters in mice).

University of Baghdad wins the first place in Iraq and 501 rank globally in QS World University Rankings

University of Baghdad won the top rank in QS World University Rankings for Iraq for the sixth consecutive year and (501-550) rank globally since it witnessed a qualitative and a quantitative improvement compared with previous years. This scientific achievement for the mother of Iraqi universities comes as a result of continuous follow-up and sober plans for the purpose of enhancing its position in global rankings.

President of University of Baghdad inspects final exams at the faculty of administration and economics

President of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul visited the faculty of administration and economics to inspect the conduct of final exams where he was received by dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Jafar Baker al-Dijili. The dean shed light on the early preparations made there to equip the examination halls and calling the examination committees to cooperate and overcome any problems that had occurred in previous years. The visit included meeting some students and asking them some details concerning the nature of the questions whether they were set according to curricula. Then the rector kept abreast with the printing house at the college and praised this great initiative for printing examinations copybooks for more than 10.000 students. At the conclusion of his visit, the rector thanked the deanship and its members for their sincere efforts to reduce the burden on the university presidency in this regard.

President of University of Baghdad visits College of education (Ibn al-Haitham)

President of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul inspected the faculty of education for pure sciences (Ibn al-Haitham) to keep abreast with the conduct of the final exams there accompanied by dean of the college Prof. Dr. Khalid Fahad Ali where the rector confirming the need to improve the scientific and educational level of our students and to provide best services for them in this blessed month of Ramadan. The rector wished them excellence in gratitude for our heroes in armed forces in fighting the forces of disbelief and darkness. Rector toured in the college’s museum and its new laboratories.

Al-Kindy College of medicine hosts the administrative Undersecretary of the ministry of higher education

Al-Kindy College of medicine at University of Baghdad hosted the administrative Undersecretary of the ministry of higher education, Prof. Dr. Mohammed al-Sarraj The delegation was received by dean of the college Assistant Prof. Dr. Mohammed al-Qirtas. During the visit, a meeting was held with the staff of the college to discuss the conduct and preparations of the final exams as well as discussing the development of scientific reality in the college.

College of science for women organizes a visit to the Central Child Hospital in Baghdad

Unit of educational guidance at the faculty of science for women, University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the department of biology organized a visit to the Central Child Hospital in Baghdad to keep abreast with the situation of infected children. During the visit, the delegation included a number of professors and students who were informed about the cases of children with cancer in order to strengthen the concept of human rights.

Faculty of engineering receives a delegation of Anton Oilfield Services

Department of oil engineering at the faculty of engineering, University of Baghdad received a delegation from Anton Oilfield Services in China that met head of department Dr. Falih al-Mahdawi and members of the teaching staff as well as the students of the fourth grade in order to keep abreast with the nature of the company’s work to obtain job opportunities after graduation and their proficiency in English.

University of Baghdad participates in inauguration of Clinical Skills Testing Center in the Medical City Hospital

President of University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasool and dean of the college of medicine, Prof. Dr. Ali Kamil al-Shalji participated in inauguration of Clinical Skills Testing Center in City Medical Hospital in the presence of the minister of health and environment Dr. Adela Hamoud and director general of the Medical City Hospital Dr. Hassan al-Tamimi. The ministry of health and environment has demonstrated its constant and continued quest to open new clinical centers in a number of Iraqi governorates in coordination and direct cooperation with the ministry of higher education and scientific research and colleges of medicine. It is worth mentioned that this is the first center of its kind in Iraq specialized in conducting medical tests in Iraq that attracted Arab professors in line with the latest scientific and medical developments occurring in neighbouring countries.

Dean of Al-Kindy College of medicine participates in inauguration of OSCE halls for postgraduate students

Dean of the faculty of medicine at University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Mohammed al-Qirtas has participated in in inauguration of (OSCE) Objective Structured Clinical Examination halls for postgraduate students at the Medical City Hospitals in the presence of the minister of health and environment Dr. Adela Hamoud. During this meeting the ministry’s support for the educational process was discussed via supplementing the college with specialized expertise and practical training at the educational hospitals.
