Al-Khwarizmi College of engineering discusses an automated welding machine

Department of automated manufacturing engineering at Al-Khwarizmi College of engineering, University of Baghdad witnessed a discussion of M.A thesis entitled (An automatic pipeline welding machine using MIG welding process) submitted by the student Mostafa Essam Rauf. This study addressed the question of how to control the variables that have a significant impact on the quality of welding such as the movement of the welding head, its speed and the distance between the welding head and the groove contained in the welding tube. The study shows that this new machine has a wide application in State institutions, including the ministry of oil and related companies because it provides timely completion of welding process as well as it reduces the number of workers since it requires only one person who can run the machine which may in turn increases profits, in addition to the high quality of welding compared with manual welding.
