Baghdad University Council resolutions – 17th session (2016)

 

Seventeenth session

 

The University Council held its seventeenth meeting at 8:30 Monday morning, 9/5/2016 at University Council meetings Hall, Jadiyera headed by Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul head of the council and attended by members except:

-Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Sahib/Dean of Faculty of engineering, attended on his behalf Prof. Dr. Wadod Tahir Mohammad/scientific associate.

– Prof. Dr. Kasim Munis Aziz/Dean of the College of fine arts, attended on his behalf Prof. Dr. Raad Abdul Jabbar/scientific associate.

– Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Ahmed/Dean of the Faculty of political science and attended on his behalf Assistant Prof. Dr. Hamsa Qahtan Khalaf.

At the beginning of the meeting the President of the Council welcomed members wishing to all health and safety and offered congratulations and blessings to Assistant Professor Dr. May Istivan Rizq Allah, Dean of the College of languages wishing her good fortune in College Administration and continue to develop scientifically and administratively, and then he thanked Prof. Dr. Sawsan Faisal al Samer for her carrer during college mandate as dean. President of the Council in his name and on behalf of the council members gave all condolences for the death of the lecturers:

Prof. Dr. Hamza Karim/Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir al-Akkam/Faculty of education – Ibn Rushd calling Almighty God to have mercy upon them and they would rest in peace.

 

Directives of the president of University Council:

1. Emphasis on preparations for the final exams and provide all the necessary supplies of water and refrigerated rooms to make the finals.

2. Emphasis on biography of teaching staff who apply for transfer to the university according to scientific expertise and the need of the University for the rare specialties.

3. Directing the committee of scientific promotions to return back the scientific upgrades transactions to the formation concerned in the case of non-use of approved evaluation form within the assessments.

4. Directing the committee of scientific promotions to choose the best research appraisers within the actual specialization.

5. Apply filtering mechanism for managers of research units according to administrative context for departments in all university formations to choose the most suitable according to the biography and work context for every two years.

6. Confirmation on granting books of acknowledgments for the lecturers who completed all study requirements in postgraduate studies without any extension within the time limit.

7. Direct the deans in all formations to follow-up the work of research units and how to complete the research plan.

8. Directing the committee of scientific promotions to ask all lecturers to provide their H-index for promotion to professorship as well as their Google Scholar page.

 

Scientific promotions:

The council considered a note by the Central Committee of scientific promotions in whole number (46) dated 15/3/2016, contained the recommendation of the Committee on scientific University Central upgrades taken 11th meeting on 12/1/2016, on upgrading the lecturers listed below to the professorship after completing the scientific upgrade requirements in terms of originality in their research and University Service:

Resolution

1. Approve the upgrade of those listed above to professorship according to effective dates listed about names for completing upgrade requirements in terms of originality in their research and service without any financial implications before the adoption of this resolution.

2. Congratulating those listed above for receiving the title of professorship.
