Baghdad University Council resolutions – 16th session (2016)

 

Sixteenth session

 

Minutes of the 16th meeting of the special session of University Council for the academic year (2015-2016):

The University Council held its sixteenth meeting in special at 8:30 Monday morning, 18/4/2016 at University Council meetings Hall, Jadiyera headed by Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul head of the council and attended by members except:

– Prof. Dr. Ali Kamil al-Shalgi/Dean of the Faculty of medicine, attended on his behalf Adnan Mohamed Mahmoud al-Jabouri.

-Prof. Dr. Salah Flaifil/Dean of the College of arts, attended on his behalf Dr. Ehsan Ali al-Haidari/Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs.

– Prof. Dr. Khaled Fahad Ali/Dean of the College of Education for pure Sciences/Ibn al-Haitham, attended on his behalf Dr. Karim Ali.

At the beginning of the meeting the President welcomed the Council members stressed that the reason for the special session is the consideration of scientific promotions transactions professorship and discuss all related administrative reviews and assessments given by experts and quality of research journals that publish research promotion, for discreet promotions, the Council hosted also Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Karim, Chairman of the central scientific promotions committee.

 

Directives of the president of University Council:

1. Affirm the decision of the University Council the fourteenth meeting held on 14 April 2014 academic year 2013/2014 containing mechanism adoption research published scientific journals scientific promotions through adoption by the scientific committees in departments and branches approved at Faculty Council and submitted to the Department of Scientific Affairs for approval of the council.

2. Directing the committee of scientific promotions to define sound scientific journals adopted in scientific University formations in accordance with the applicable contexts in the University Council resolution at the fourteenth meeting held on 14 April 2014 for the academic year 2013/2014.

3. Direct the deans in all formations to apply the notes pertaining to scientific promotions approved by the ministry and University Council and subcommittees in their deployment and emphasis on implementation of the decisions of the University Council of scientific promotions otherwise transaction will be returned to the formation.

4. Emphasis on publishing academic research in Arabic and international journals and to inform the world on our research to find out the level of scientific research.

5. Emphasis on publishing a scientific research promotion to professorship in discreet world journals outside Iraq from the date of its fifteenth meeting held on 11/4/2016.

6. Directing the committee of scientific promotions to finish transactions for promotions in College of physical education and sports science.

The council then proceeded to discuss the issues on its agenda as follows:

 

 

The council considered the central committee of scientific promotions notes, number: 16, 17, 46, 61, dated 31/1, 15/3, 6/4/2016, containing the recommendations of the Scientific Committee of the university promotions taken its ninth, tenth, eleventh and thirteenth session held on 22/12/2015 and 5 and 12/1 and 23/2/2016, on upgrading those listed below to the professorship, completing the scientific upgrade requirements in terms of originality in their research and University Service:

1. Approve the upgrade of those listed above to professorship according to effective dates listed by their names for completing upgrade requirements in terms of originality in their research and service without any financial implications before the adoption of this resolution.

2. Congratulating those listed above for receiving the title of professorship.

3. Grant books of acknowledgments for them in the sequence (2, 4, 6, 7, 8).

4. The committee of scientific promotions should submit the names of those listed in sequences (2, 4, 6, 7, 8) for the purpose of publication after publishing at least five researches.
