Department of scientific affairs at the presidency of University of Baghdad held a workshop entitled (measurement of research and development in 2015) in collaboration with the ministry of science and technology where it included two lectures, the first one was delivered by the director of Center for scientific information and technological transfer Dr. Samir Ibrahim Abbas in which he referred to the instructions for filling out the firms of human resources (HR) and expenditure on research (EXP) in the higher education sector and hinted also to the research units, departments and employees covered by measuring the activity of research and development. Chief engineer at the ministry of science and technology, Prof. Dr. Maha Abbas Hatihit clarified the categories of staff working in research and development activity and how to fill out the information in the correct format on website according to international standards of UNESCO. The workshop was attended by representatives from the ministry of science and technology and professors from University of Baghdad. It is worth mentioned that the General Secretariat of the Central Library hosted this event amid considerable academic presence.
