Faculty of education (Ibn al-Haitham) holds a lecture on environment and remote sensing


Faculty of education for pure sciences (Ibn al-Haitham) at University of Baghdad held a lecture on (environment and remote sensing science). This lecture was organized by the unit of remote sensing and image processing at the department. It was delivered by Assistant Prof. Dr. Hamid Majid an instructor at the department and attended by a number of lecturers and graduate students. The lecture dealt with the importance of shrinking of water surfaces and the depletion of natural resources in the globe in general and Iraq in particular. It reviewed the Iraq water policy compared with the neighboring countries benefiting from Tigris and Euphrates rivers also the future status was drawn until (2020) in order to explain the need of water resources with what is available currently. At the conclusion of the lecture, a set of proposals were submitted for improving water reality and vegetation in order to minimize negative phenomena of the environmental change experienced in Iraq.
