UN High Commissioner for Human Rights visits the center for women’s studies 


A delegation of UN High Commissioner for human rights visited the center for women’s studies at University of Baghdad in the context of opening horizons of joint cooperation between the two sides in favor of women’s issues and the aspirations of Iraqi society in the presence of Director Assistant Prof. Dr. Siham Mutasher and a number of professors and members of the center. Director of the center dealt with the importance of the center in addressing women’s issues since it is the only institution in this regard in Iraq and continued her quest to complete its formal recognition requirements in addition to its research plans, programs, conferences, seminars and workshops. She also hinted to the efforts to solve the problems faced by Iraqi society and the desire to recognize the role of civil society organizations concerned with women. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in future and exchange of knowledge and scientific expertise.
