Directives of the Council Chairman

 

I: Commitment to uniforms, study hours for students and teaching staff at our university for the academic year (2013/2014).

II: Calling the educational counseling committees to direct students for the relevance and effectiveness of this topic in addressing many negative phenomena and problems facing students.

III: Adoption of published research for scientific promotions after being approved by departments in colleges according to the annual research plan of each department.

IV: Calling the marketing research unit to activate the role of applied research within the marketing possibilities in the application of the concept “produced university and community service”.

V: Openness of university faculties to State institutions in conferences to develop scientific cooperation with academic institutions and in establishment of joint conferences, seminars and workshops.

VI: Awarding the title of a tenured professor to the professor who keeps giving his scientific expertise to the lecturers in a department or a branch according to his competence scarcity.

VII: Changing the apprenticeship in exceptional circumstances towards sober scientific universities to maintain the scientific level of the university.

VIII: Precision when entering information into the electronic system for postgraduate admission and audition to avoid specific inappropriate cases and application of instructions thoroughly for applicants.

IX: The possibility of holding a conference, seminar or workshop that are not included in the annual plan to contribute to finding solutions or handle any emergency event or emerging problem in society.

Then the council considered other issues on its agenda and took appropriate decisions as follows:


Scientific upgrades

The council considered the notes made by the Central Committee of scientific promotions’ chairman No.23 and 47, dated 13/5 and 24/9/2013, contained the recommendations of the Scientific Committee of promotions in its fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth sessions held in 30/4 and 13, 28/5/2013 on upgrading those below to professorship after completing the scientific upgrade requirements in terms of originality in their research and university:

After discussion, the council adopted this resolution:


Resolution

1. Approve the upgrade of those listed above to professorship according to effective dates after completing upgrade requirements in terms of originality in their research and university service.

2. Submitting the name of (Dr. Mohammed Jawad Kazim)/College of physical education to media and public relations department at the university for the purpose of publication and highlight of his promotion since he published (5) sober researches.

3. Congratulations those listed above for receive the title of professorship.


Mechanism of cooperation/adoption of postgraduate students’ research /faculty of engineering

The council considered the book of the college of engineering No. d/7, 16, 20 of 23/9 and 2/10/2013, on the recommendations of the committee for the cooperation mechanism for the adoption of a number of postgraduate researches contained in the minutes of the 13th, 19th and 20th meeting of the council of engineering college on 6/3 and 29/5 to 19/6/2013 respectively as follows:

1. Approval of a master student’s research (Zeinab Mohammed Akram)/water resource engineering department with the ministry of water resources/public body to run irrigation projects/legal department/contracts division.

2. Approval of a doctoral student’s research (Ashwaq Fadel Moukheiber)/Department of architecture engineering with the consulting office/Engineering College/Mustansiriyah University.

3. Approval of master’s student (Qahtan Adnan Abdul Aziz)/oil engineering department with the ministry of oil/Middle oil company.


After discussion, the council adopted this resolution:


Resolution

Approval of the recommendations of the Commission of the cooperation mechanism in Faculty of engineering for the adoption of a number of research postgraduate students (1-3) listed above, based on the collaboration mechanism between the ministry of higher education and scientific research and relevant or non-related ministries,No.160, 2009 provided that it doesn’t conflict with the controls for supervision of graduate students.


Mechanism of cooperation/ Center for revival of Arab scientific heritage 

The council considered a note of Scientific Affairs Department No.700, dated 29/9/2013 contained recommendation of the center for revival of Arab scientific heritage’ council of its 1st session held on 9/15/2013, agreeing to divest Assist. Prof. Dr. Shahrazad Mohammad Jafar for one day a week for assigned Vice President Scientific Assembly tasks for maintaining genetic resources and research, based on the collaboration mechanism between the ministry of higher education and scientific research and relevant or non-related ministries, No.160, 2009 and after the debate the council adopted this resolution:


Resolution

Approve to divest Assist. Prof. Dr. Shahrazad Mohammad Jafar for one day a week for being assigned as Vice President Scientific Assembly for maintaining genetic resources and research based on the collaboration mechanism between the ministry of higher education and scientific research and relevant or non-related ministries, No.160, 2009.

 

Mechanism of cooperation/College of law

The council considered a note of Scientific Affairs Department No. p/662, dated 12/9/2013 and the book issued by the college of law No.4650, 9/9/2013 containing the recommendation of the Committee on cooperation mechanism of the faculty of law held on 1/9/2013 approving the nomination of Assist. Prof. Dr. Sabah Sami Dawood) to participate in the judicial Institute staff in project implementation of international human rights standards in domestic criminal law in cooperation with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for human rights, based on the instructions of cooperation mechanism between the ministry of higher education and scientific research with the ministries and bodies not related to ministry No.160, 2009 and after the debate, the council adopted this resolution:

Approval of nominating (Assist. Prof. Dr. Sabah Sami Dawood) to participate in the judicial Institute staff in project implementation of international human rights standards in domestic criminal law in cooperation with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for human rights, based on the collaboration mechanism between the ministry of higher education and scientific research with relevant ministries and non-related ministry No.160, 2009.

 

Extension of postgraduate study (second term)

The council considered a note postgraduate studies department No.GS-1201 on 3/10/2013, concerning the extension of the duration of study of a master’s student (Thawra Sadiq Humadi)/College of management and economics for a second extension for a period of six months, for the purpose of completing the requirements of the study and after the debate, the council adopted this resolution:


Resolution

Agree to extend the duration of the master’s student study (Thawra Sadiq Humadi)/College of management and economics for a second extension for a period of six months, for the purpose of completing the requirements of the study.
