A rare astronomical phenomenon captured by the department of astronomy
Committee of photography of astronomical phenomena at the department of astronomy, faculty of sciences, Baghdad University captured an astronomical phenomenon represented by the planet Mercury crossing in front of the sun, which lasted several hours. This process was monitored by using telescopes and cameras available at the department with the participation of a number of professors and graduate students. It is worth mentioned that this phenomenon happens on average once every seven or eight years.
